The heart of worship
When you see followers of Christ, raising and lifting their hands, closing their eyes and singing eagerly to every word of a worship song... jumping and dancing while praising.. Often times, you'll think that they're crazy or you'd say what's wrong with these people or you'd say they're overacting. I once thought like that but not until I became a believer that I also felt the magic of praise and worship. It's the Holy Spirit communicating there. Many times during praise and worship, I get goosebumps. I cry. At first I felt a lil awkward raising my hands but as soon as I internalize the song and focus on God, it goes over my system and I can't contain it and I freely sing to the Lord cause He deserves all the praise! I worship not because I want to feel good though it's one thing you can get but that's not the point, I worship because He deserves to be worshipped. This is just a lil payback for all the things He have done for us. When you worship Him, you declare His sovereignty, His grandeur. You sing songs of truth and of life. It's one way of Honoring God.
This is just so wonderful. The power of praise and worship. And there was never a day from then on that I don't listen to worship songs. It's my daily routine like praying.
And yes, I will worship Him all my life.
"I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever."
-Psalm 86:12
