Guimaras☺

Let me take you to Guimaras.
Aside that I'm a devoted Ilongga and the fact that I long to live in Manila, another part of my heart is also reserved for Guimaras, it's my mother's hometown and it's where I have gained wondrous summer memories with my cousins and family. And just the ambiance and surrounding there, makes me feel at home. The breeze of the freshness and calmness there really soothes me. And makes me say, "This is life!" And every year, I look forward in going home there.
Actually, our province there belong to the part of Buenavista, Guimaras. It's actually on the Southern part and beaches are visible, you could already see the mountains of Negros. And we go home there on occasions, but its constant that we go there every celebration for the fiesta. It's celebrated every 3rd or 4th Sunday of April. This year, it was together with the "Manggahan Festival" in Jordan, Guimaras.
It's just a pamboat ride from Iloilo but ofcourse you also have to travel by land by about 30-45 minutes before you reach Mantangingi that's the other term that they call for East Valencia. We stay on Mampay, that's about a five minute walk from the Plaza or the Barrio proper. We really do enjoy walking there. Since transportation is quite expensive because we are so many in the family. It always gives us a thrill to walk especially during night time cause lamp posts are not available, so we often have times of darkness. HAHA! But that's a great adventure to tell you frankly!
Here's the beach in Mampay. One of the Sitio's there. It's in front from where we stay. Actually you
have to cross the street and drop by rice grounds and waalaaaa there's the beach
with many mangroves. HAHA!
Adding to the beautiful view is this "balsa"
It's so relaxing to the eyes right? And it's more relaxing when you're there lying and breathing the sea breeze.
The beach near us is usually free. But there are other beaches around the vicinity. There are resorts! One is Abelardo's Beach Resort, Kelapa, Pagatpat and many more but they are near the Proper.

And there you could see the mysterious "PULO" (Island).

We are always warned to go near that Isle. As the elderly's would say that it is dangerous and that someone died there a long time ago. But honestly, it's the second time that I've been there but I'm still alive. HAHA! We could only reach it during twilight time when it's low tide. See how it's submerged in sea water during daytime.

And here it is during low tide.

Just be sure to wear your slippers cause it's really rocky out there. (That's an advice, cause I walked there barefoot and it's quite painful but I did survived it.)
And I remember that behind that, they're big rocks and the huge waves are crashing on it. Awesome view out there.
But when you get near the island, it's quite spooky so be sure to have a companion with you. :)

...Many more awesome spots! :)
THAT's IT! HOPE YOU COULD VISIT!!
It's more fun in the Philippines.
It's more fun in Guimaras.
